Time flies so fast. Tomorrow begins the 9th month of the year! That’s why in this blog, we will talk about “months”. Have you ever wonder what are the names of the 12 months in different languages? Because I have. So here is another challenge that I put up together for my international friends to complete.
Allow me to show you the challenge first, here it is:
CHALLENGE OF THE DAY
Since another month is ending soon, I got curious and asked myself – ‘What are the names of the 12 months in different languages?’ So today’s challenge is to name those 12 months in your native language!
🎙Record an audio: introduce yourself first and mention your native language. Then kindly name the 12 months in your native language. You may start with ‘January’ or whatever the translation is.
📱Send the written version of those months in: 1. its romanized written version and; 2. its native writing version (only if it applies to you.)
With 34 nationalities participating to this challenge, here is how each one calls the twelve months of a year in his native language.
1-Mwezi wa kwanza; 2-Mwezi wa pili; 3-Mwezi wa tatu; 4-Mwezi wa nne; 5-Mwezi wa tano; 6-Mwezi wa sita; 7-Mwezi wa saba; 8-Mwezi wa nane; 9-Mwezi wa tisa; 10-Mwezi wa kumi; 11-Mwezi wa kumi na moja; 12-Mwezi wa kumi na mbili.

Hi! I do have to say I’m enjoying these challenges. A slight correction though, the months in swahili aren’t correct. It’s like saying first month, second month… and so on. Should be Januari, februari, Machi, Aprili, mayi, juni, Julai, Agosti, septemba, octoba, novemba and desemba

Hi Sandra ! , im the guy in the swahili audio, actually you are very correct , but it depends with what majority of people use… if you say septemba to 10 Tanzanian who cant speak English only 2 might understand what you are meaning, but if you say the way i said in Swahili audio eg mwezi wa tisa , 10/10 will understand you
Thank you !
